QCRI’s Embedded Systems team undertakes research focused on, but not limited to, hardware security applications.
The Embedded Systems research center aims to be a center of excellence for hardware cryptography security solutions that would be designed into an integrated circuit (IC). Research projects undertaken by this center will broaden QCRI’s research portfolio into thestrategic area of cyber security.
The research will identify software security solutions that would benefit from hardware cipher solutions by developing system architectures incorporating cryptography algorithms and counter measures to make computing systems more secure from cyber-attacks and counterfeiters.
The intention is not just the application of techniques developed outside of Qatar, but innovative design and research that can be acclaimed ‘Designed in Qatar’.
The center is focused on nurturing home grown talent in Qatar to work in this high tech field.
